Such a long, hard, never-ending day that seemed. It took me almost six hours to finally get confirmed. What a tiring day that was, both for me & my pupils! Thank God it's all water under the bridge now...As the saying goes: " Tough moments don't last, tough people do"...

Kamal El Mekki is a well-known Islamic speaker and lecturer in the United states. He has studied with numerous scholars from around the world and is currently the Imam of George Mason University. He is mostly popular for his dawah workshop, “How to Give a Shahadah in Ten Minutes”. The workshop is six hours long and has been taught across the United States and throughout the world. It has been attended by thousands and has led hundreds into Islam. He also teaches a number of intensive courses designed for youth and has many lectures especially in the field of Islamic history.

Some ways of strengthening one's memory include: Keeping away from sin, because the bad effects of sin result in a bad memory and the inability to retain knowledge. Frequently remembering Allaah, may He be glorified, by reciting dhikr, tasbeeh (saying ‘Subhan Allaah’), tahmeed (‘Al-hamdu Lillaah’), tahleel (‘Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah’) and takbeer (‘Allaahu akbar’), etc. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “…And remember your Lord when you forget…” [al-Kahf 18:24]. Not eating too much, because eating too much makes one sleep too much and become lazy, and it dulls the senses, besides exposing one to the risk of physical diseases. Most of the diseases which we see result from food and drink. Some of the scholars have mentioned certain foods which increase the memory, such as drinking honey and eating raisins and chewing certain kinds of gum resin. Another thing that can help the memory and reduce forgetfulness is cupping (hijaamah) of the head, as is well known from experience. (For more information see Al-Tibb al-Nabawi by Ibn al-Qayyim). A Refugee’s Life

Gloomy was the day I was born.
All was blown up, all was torn.

Havoc, destruction & sadness prevailed.
The savages’ bloody nature was unveiled.

Any difference did my life make,
any hope it brought?
A child unnoticed for god’s sake,
battles were fought.

I cried my heart out, there were noises,
there were voices, there were tears.
My mother’s soft hands wiped off the tears,
her warm voice calmed my fears.

“Hush! My little angel” she told me that and she went on:
“We’re born to fight; we never give up, never cry”,
then she was gone!
She gave me hope then disappeared,
loads of pain, cuts like a knife.
I was alone, no one appeared!
All is insane in a refugee’s life.

Too little was I to realize the cruelty of this world.
They speak of peace, of human rights, of a white bird.

All my life I wondered: “Do such things truly exist?”
Oh please! You nerds! Don’t shoot at me & speak of peace,
you contradict.
Long I’ve learned there’s one way out, I’ve got to fight,
I’ve to resist.

Simplicity VS modern, complex life....

For ever and for always, simplicity to me ِّmeans less trouble and distractions...Life in the countryside is always a lot of fun, joy and more genuine like than in a city. Nothing would do better than paying your old fellow men a visit there and enjoy their presence whenever circumstances allow you....

* Strange Feeling *

So often people say things happen for a reason.
That’s what I thought when our eyes first met.
Rosy cheeks, long hair, she was flavour of the season.
A breath taking, walking beauty amazingly set.
Never shall I meet a mortal with superb features.
God has made beauty, but she’s not like other creatures.
Everything fainted around, I couldn’t feel the ground.
Far from earth was I, heavenly touching the sky.
Endless thoughts, direct shots, like crazy going round.
Echoes of her voice, gave me no other choice but fly.
Long it took me to get out of that slow motion.
I got back to normal, rhythmic life with a strange emotion.
Never did I feel so happy, I got on cloud nine.
God you made it happen, oh! Pray make her mine.

whither Iraq?

Ain't it funny and absurd that a nation which claims to be a peace keeper and maker in the world ignores totally all the incidents happening in Palestine and the inhuman, savage treatment of the Palestinian people by its ally 'Israel'? Or peace keeping & making is only applied when benefits and revenues are to be received? I wonder what peace is the American administration talking about when it comes to countries like Iraq! All I could see (& everyone who's not blindfolded) is destruction, bloodshed & havoc.

Lil Chicks

What a splendid day!
My dad went to the market today and bought some little cute yellow birds. How cute those chicks look, they are really funny and so amusing to look at. No wonder that little kids over town are no more buying candies but chicks to look after, especially since a chick is only sold for 10 Dinars (0.1 Euro).
I couldn't resist the temptation and held my camera to make a video. so musical there voices were, so lovely there movements and so cheerful their company.
